Sleeping With Other People Trailer: Could Jason Sudeikis and Alison Brie Be the New Harry and Sally?

Sleeping With Other People

When critics compare an upcoming film to When Harry Met Sally, arguably the best romantic comedy of all-time, you start to pay attention to what that movie is. Sleeping With Other People, which first premiered at Sundance back in January, is the second directorial effort from Leslye Headland (BacheloretteAbout Last Night) and stars Jason Sudeikis (Horrible Bosses 2We’re the Millers) and Alison Brie (CommunityMad Men). And while the small sampling of reviews for the film haven’t been universally positive, those who love the movie are truly passionate about it, making the claims I stated above and calling it one of the freshest and best romantic comedies in years. All of that hype is why I was so excited when the trailer for the movie was finally released today, and I wasn’t disappointed.

The trailer for the film (which probably shouldn’t be watched around younger kids, if you have them) lays out the basic story of the movie. Jake (Sudeikis) and Lainey (Brie), both serial cheaters who can’t seem to get into a relationship without hurting the other person, haven’t seen each other since college, when they both lost their virginities to one another. However, after bumping into each other again after all these years, they rekindle their friendship, promising that they will be never anything more than that: just friends.

Obviously, as the trailer shows, situations like these are never simple, and feelings always end up complicating matters, even if both people swear they won’t. But what makes Sleeping With Other People look fresh and fun is that it appears to be both coarse and crude but still have a lot of heart, a tough balancing act that not many romantic comedies can perform. Plus, it’s great to see talented actors like Sudeikis and Brie headline a film like this, since they’re typically relegated to supporting roles in other movies.

In addition to Sudeikis and Brie, Sleeping With Other People‘s cast reportedly includes Adam Scott (Parks and Recreation), Jason Mantzoukas (The League), Amanda Peet (Togetherness), Natasha Lyonne (Orange Is the New Black), and, as seen in the trailer, Adam Brody (The O.C.).

Sleeping With Other People hits theaters on September 11. Check out the trailer below and comment to let us know what you think about it.

Kingsman: The Secret Service Review: The Most Fun You’ll Have at the Movies This February

Kingsman Review

Blaise and I went and saw Matthew Vaughn’s new film Kingsman: The Secret Service last night. There was a lot of hope that Vaughn, who has directed such films as Kick-Ass and X-Men: First Class, could provide us with the first great movie of 2015 (January and February are dark times, my friends). So did he deliver? Check out Blaise’s and my quick reviews below to find out, and then make sure to tune into this Sunday’s podcast for our full spoiler-filled discussion of the film. First Photos of Daniel Craig in ‘Spectre’ Released

The first images of Daniel Craig from the upcoming James Bond film Spectre have been released, and even though some reports have already surfaced about the film’s script, suggesting that the movie loses its way in the third act, the Bond fanboy in me can’t help but get excited at these photos. In addition to the pictures, a behind-the-scenes video was also released for Spectre, which should give fans a better idea of what to expect from the film, which will be Bond’s first adventure in three years, since 2012’s critical and commercial hit Skyfall (regarded by many as one of the best Bond films of all-time). The First Trailer for Cameron Crowe’s ‘Aloha’ Is Here: Could This Be His Comeback Film?

The first trailer for Cameron Crowe’s upcoming film Aloha has arrived, and while Crowe’s track record in recent years hasn’t been the best (let’s be honest: he hasn’t made a good movie since Almost Famous), I’m getting pretty excited for this project.

The main draw here, of course, is the cast which is comprised of Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone, Rachel McAdams, Bill Murray, Alec Baldwin, John Krasinski, and Danny McBride. However, what I like most about this trailer, aside from the insane appeal of the all the actors attached to the film, is the tone that Crowe appears to be going for. This feels much more like Jerry Maguire Cameron Crowe than Vanilla Sky Cameron Crowe, and that’s a good thing.

Aloha is slated to hit theaters on May 29. Check out the trailer for it below, and let us know what you think. Could this be Cameron Crowe’s comeback film, or are his best days as a director behind him?
