Zoolander 2 Has Started Filming

Around a month or two ago there were rumors that Zoolander 2 was going to start filming soon; however, the information was still unclear and not officially confirmed because the only source was an Italian mayor announcing that they would be using the city.

It looks like it was all true and we will be getting Zoolander 2 in the near future because Owen Wilson was dressed in a full Hansel outfit strutting down the Valentino runway in Italy with Ben Stiller back as Zoolander as well.

Zoolander is a classic comedy, but it came out a decade ago back in 2001. Is it too late for these actors to be releasing a sequel? Many people want Zoolander 2, myself included, but I’m extremely scared it’s going to be along the lines of Dumb and Dumber To that is just an unfunny cash crab by the actors because they knew people would give it a chance. I have higher hopes for Z2 compared to other sequels that have come out recently but we’ll just have to wait and see.

FXX Renews Man Seeking Woman for Season 2

Freshman FXX show Man Seeking Woman starring Jay Baruchel has been off to a great start. The episode will release it’s eighth episode this week and the great news has been released that the show has officially been picked up for a second season.

Man Seeking Woman is easily my favorite new show so far in 2015 and I’m thrilled to hear that it’s doing well enough to already earn a second season without any doubts. I’m excited to see some more good episodes to close this first season and can’t wait to see what is in store for the future.

Hot Tub Time Machine 2 Review: Can They Travel Back in Time and Never Make This Movie?

Hot Tub Time Machine was a surprise hit back in 2010 that was charming and clever in the ways it conveyed simple themes of friendship and taking your future into your own hands. The movie  had surprise chemistry between its main cast and tons of people fell in love with the film which led to an announcement soon after that a sequel would happen. Five years later, Hot Tub Time Machine 2 has finally hit theaters, and last night we went to see it, which was probably a huge mistake.

Blaise: F

I absolutely loved Hot Tub Time Machine, and all I wanted out of this sequel was for it to not ruin the original… sigh. The first movie had direction and everything the characters did was related to figuring out how to get back to the present time while enjoying the perks of being able to change things on the side. HTTM2 reverses that formula and has the characters doing random things in the future while the main plot is an afterthought. The film had a horrible basic plot with no direction and as a result the dialogue suffered because the jokes, which were all replicas of the original film, were entirely too drawn out and just turn into unfunny overkill.

Losing John Cusack as Adam seems to be what hurts this movie the most. In the original, Adam is the center of the friend group who, for the most part, brings the grounded moral conscience to everyone else. Without him, the focus turns onto Lou (Rob Corddry), which is a character that can’t really carry as the lead. Rather than having a serious actor surrounded by three comedic ones, HTTM2 just focuses on three comedic actors who try and stuff as many repetitive jokes into 90 minutes as possible.

I’m not even going to discuss how much talent they wasted in Adam Scott.

I definitely laughed at certain parts of Hot Tub Time Machine 2, but in the end it was a poor excuse of a sequel that was honestly just a money grab. There was so much wasted potential when you have time travel driving your story. This movie was closer to The Hangover 2 rather than a successful sequel that can make fun of itself without being overkill like 22 Jump Street.

Chris: F

While the first Hot Tub Time Machine was an unexpected gem, a great blend of crude humor but genuine heart, the movie’s sequel is absolutely devoid of everything that made the original so enjoyable. Hot Tub Time Machine 2 essentially has no story; it’s framed as a murder mystery of sorts, but the script has no interest in actually uncovering who the murderer is and instead has its characters meander through the future with no sense of purpose.

Hot Tub Time Machine 2‘s lack of focus would be forgivable if it was funny, but it’s not. Almost none of the movie’s jokes land (and most of the attempts at humor are dick jokes, because those are so funny, right?), and the film completely wastes its very talented cast (including Parks and Rec‘s Adam Scott), making them utter lines and perform stupid slapstick humor that not even the greatest comedian alive could make work.

Overall, Hot Tub Time Machine 2 is a soulless, pointless, slog of a movie that has around a 90-minute running time but feels like it’s going on for three hours. If you’re a fan of the first one, do yourself a favor and act like this one doesn’t exist (just like The Sandlot 2) and use your money to go see something like Kingsman or The DUFF instead.

Jon Stewart to Leave The Daily Show Later This Year

Some sad news has come out today that John Stewart will be leaving the Daily Show. Stewart apparently announced to the audience of yesterday’s episode that he will be retiring as the host with little reason of why. Although there is no official date for when Stewart’s last time on the desk will be, this won’t be the end of The Daily Show for good as Comedy Central sent out this statement (below) offering some words on the subject.

Zoolander 2 Finally Happening

Within the past year there have been many rumors swirling around the possibility of fans finally receiving a sequel to Ben Stiller’s big hit; Zoolander. The film about male models was released back in 2001 where it found love as a fun and easygoing comedy with solid performances from Stiller, Owen Wilson and Will Ferrell.

New information has come out of Bad Taste, an Italian website, stating that the Mayor of Rome has announced that the Zoolander sequel will be shooting in the city for 12 weeks starting this upcoming Spring with plans for a 2016 release.

While the film is still not 100% confirmed, this is interesting evidence supporting the case. It will be interesting to see the direction Zoolander 2 takes, if it does come out, how good it will be. It’s been over ten years since the release of the first film which has become a quotable cult classic that many people love. It would be awful to see a return to the series flop and destroy the brilliance of the original similarly to Dumb and Dumber, which tried to make a comeback last year.

Neighbors 2 is Coming in 2016

After a shockingly surprising success in the box office with a total of $269 million in the worldwide market, Neighbors will be getting a sequel. The movie received great ratings and drew in a huge crowd that loved watching Seth Rogen and Zac Efron on screen together.

Both Efron and Rogen will be returning along with Rose Byrne and director Nicholas Stoller will be back again as well. The movie’s plot is definitely a mystery but has to revolve around more of the same with hopes that it can live up to the audience love for the first one. While this could completely destroy the single success they discovered in the hidden gem, it will definitely draw people out to the theater in what will hopefully be another massive payday.

Right now, Paramount has Neighbors scheduled for a May 13, 2016 release date which will have some stiff competition and have to compete with Disney and Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War.

First Promo for Silicon Valley Season 2

Silicon Valley was another hit show for HBO last year when it delivered a fun look at the technological boom that is currently still happening out in California. The show’s amazing characters will return to pick up right where they left during season 1 with the Pied Piper app breaking the “Weissman Score”.

The show was easily my favorite new additional to television last year and I can’t wait to see this amazing cast finally return. The first promo above is hilarious and has the exact same feel as the first season.

Silicon Valley is scheduled to return for its second season on HBO starting April 12th.
