First Trailer for Steve Jobs

In 2013, a Steve Jobs movie was released called Jobs that many people didn’t like too much. It starred Ashton Kutcher as Steve, and while the actor looked exactly like a young Steve Jobs, his voice and skills couldn’t nail the performance.

Fortunately, another Steve Jobs movie has been on the rise with Aaron Sorkin writing and Danny Boyle directing. After losing Christian Bale for Steve Jobs, they replaced him with the just as amazing Michael Fassbender. Starring along side of Fassbender will be Seth Rogen as Steve Wozniak.

The first trailer for Steve Jobs has officially released and has Jobs already gone from my brain. I am extremely excited for this because Fassbender’s performance looks pretty damn amazing. I like that the trailer seems to show that the movie will recount the events of Apple while also displaying who Jobs was as a person. I think that the movie should offer a better look at the story of one of the greatest minds when it releases on October 9th this year.

Official First Trailer for Creed

The first trailer for the upcoming continuation of the Rocky series, titled Creed, has released its first trailer. Creed will focus on a new fighter named Adonis Johnson, who his the son of Apollo Creed, Rocky’s old friend and competitor.

The movie stars Michael B. Jordan as Adonis and he eventually turns to Philly’s greatest fighter to train him when he most needs it. The movie is directed and written by Ryan Coogler, who was the man behind Fruitvale Station where he originally worked with Jordan.

I’m a big fan of Jordan as an actor, and I really want to like this movie. I enjoy the old Rocky movies and think that this is definitely a solid concept to include in the overall franchise. Although I believe the trailer is trying a little hard, I’m definitely going to give this movie a shot, especially with Coogler handling things.

Creed is set for a November 25th release. Between this and Fantastic Four, Jordan could have a pretty good acting year.

Spider-Man will be Similar to a John Hughes Movie

32441_comics_spiderman

Everyone is extremely excited to see Spider-Man finally coming back home and joining the MCU. News continues to pour out about the character and his solo film; we know that Spidey will make his first official appearance in next years, Captain America: Civil War and young 19 year old actor, Tom Holland, will be portraying the character.

Some interesting information has now released that provides some very minor details about the solo Spider-Man film that is scheduled for a 2017 release. During interviews at a screening for Ant-Man, Kevin Feige said that Spider-Man’s solo film would be comparable to a John Hughes coming of age film. Hughes created some of the 80’s best films in classics such as Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Home Alone, The Breakfast Club, as well as tons more.

Personally, I think this is a good thing to hear. A large part of Spider-Man as a character is watching him grow into adulthood while having to manage being a hero on top of it. Marvel is making a smart decision to have this movie not be a complete origin story but I really am glad to see how much emphasis they want to put on the character to really build him.

Marvel is really nailing their characters and crafting the movies around that, which makes them feel unique and less generic for “just the superhero movie for this year.” I think that Spider-Man will be a huge hit because while he is one of the most universally loved characters, there is a rich background of story-telling if done right. Civil War will be a huge way to introduce the character because in the comics, this is a situation that really defines who Peter is as a person.

I’m really looking forward to Spider-Man and think that it will be a huge success. I really like Tom Holland for Peter and think that Marvel’s input will finally give us a stable and proper representation of Spider-Man on the big screen.

Joe Manganiello Being Considered for Deathstroke in Suicide Squad

No… you’re not reading the title of this post wrong… Joe Manganiello is up for the role of Deathstroke in the Suicide Movie that is coming out next year. Deathstroke is a major part of the DC universe and it would be pretty great to see the character on screen as early as next year, but I’m not sure about this casting.

Manganiello has his moments, I guess, but really has seemed to be type cast as a buff guy in roles that never really have much depth. He’s popped up in roles over the years and most recent was in Magic Mike along with Channing Tatum which has a sequel coming out later this year.

Manganiello is fine when he’s in a supporting role, but Deathstroke is a major villain for DC that deserves proper representation. You have The Rock playing Black Adam, and I would have expected someone equally as popular for this role. It’s not officially confirmed that Manganiello will be playing Deathstroke, but according to sources it’s his role to lose. Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) is also being considered for the role, and personally, I would love to see his take on the character because I think he is a better and more versatile actor than Manganiello.

Manu Bennett has been phenomenal in the Slade Wilson role on the CW’s Arrow, which leaves big shoes for the movie version of the character to fill. With most fans being frustrated at DC’s failure to combine their TV and movie universes like Marvel, all eyes will be on the actor with high demands.

Zoolander 2 Has Started Filming

Around a month or two ago there were rumors that Zoolander 2 was going to start filming soon; however, the information was still unclear and not officially confirmed because the only source was an Italian mayor announcing that they would be using the city.

It looks like it was all true and we will be getting Zoolander 2 in the near future because Owen Wilson was dressed in a full Hansel outfit strutting down the Valentino runway in Italy with Ben Stiller back as Zoolander as well.

Zoolander is a classic comedy, but it came out a decade ago back in 2001. Is it too late for these actors to be releasing a sequel? Many people want Zoolander 2, myself included, but I’m extremely scared it’s going to be along the lines of Dumb and Dumber To that is just an unfunny cash crab by the actors because they knew people would give it a chance. I have higher hopes for Z2 compared to other sequels that have come out recently but we’ll just have to wait and see.

Sigourney Weaver Will Be Playing a New Character in Avatar Sequels

It’s been a long time since the release of James Cameron’s Avatar, but there are still two sequels on the way. The follow ups to the 2009 Oscar nominated film are scheduled to film back to back and release in 2017, 18, and 19 if they do well and go according to plan. It feels like Avatar has become a real afterthought at this point so it will be interesting to see how much people want to see them.

The first film needed “appropriate technology” according to Cameron and received mixed feelings from a bunch of people. Sigourney Weaver announced that she will be returning but playing a completely new character that has yet to be announced. It seems like Cameron is finding more ways to complicate the Avatar universe even more but we won’t really know until these films are released.
