Neve Campbell Joins House of Cards

Neve Campbell has joined House of Cards when it returns for its fourth season next year. The details on her character have been quiet, but the speculation right now is that the season will introduce a younger couple that compete with Frank and Claire.

I think that this will be a good addition to the show and possibly be a plot that improves from the most recent season. I felt as though the story to be too repetitive in this third season and certain characters poorly written.

I’m definitely planning on watching the new season, but will not be as excited as year’s past; however, the addition of someone like Campbell and the plot idea mentioned above could make things great again.

Joe Manganiello Being Considered for Deathstroke in Suicide Squad

No… you’re not reading the title of this post wrong… Joe Manganiello is up for the role of Deathstroke in the Suicide Movie that is coming out next year. Deathstroke is a major part of the DC universe and it would be pretty great to see the character on screen as early as next year, but I’m not sure about this casting.

Manganiello has his moments, I guess, but really has seemed to be type cast as a buff guy in roles that never really have much depth. He’s popped up in roles over the years and most recent was in Magic Mike along with Channing Tatum which has a sequel coming out later this year.

Manganiello is fine when he’s in a supporting role, but Deathstroke is a major villain for DC that deserves proper representation. You have The Rock playing Black Adam, and I would have expected someone equally as popular for this role. It’s not officially confirmed that Manganiello will be playing Deathstroke, but according to sources it’s his role to lose. Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) is also being considered for the role, and personally, I would love to see his take on the character because I think he is a better and more versatile actor than Manganiello.

Manu Bennett has been phenomenal in the Slade Wilson role on the CW’s Arrow, which leaves big shoes for the movie version of the character to fill. With most fans being frustrated at DC’s failure to combine their TV and movie universes like Marvel, all eyes will be on the actor with high demands.

Zoolander 2 Has Started Filming

Around a month or two ago there were rumors that Zoolander 2 was going to start filming soon; however, the information was still unclear and not officially confirmed because the only source was an Italian mayor announcing that they would be using the city.

It looks like it was all true and we will be getting Zoolander 2 in the near future because Owen Wilson was dressed in a full Hansel outfit strutting down the Valentino runway in Italy with Ben Stiller back as Zoolander as well.

Zoolander is a classic comedy, but it came out a decade ago back in 2001. Is it too late for these actors to be releasing a sequel? Many people want Zoolander 2, myself included, but I’m extremely scared it’s going to be along the lines of Dumb and Dumber To that is just an unfunny cash crab by the actors because they knew people would give it a chance. I have higher hopes for Z2 compared to other sequels that have come out recently but we’ll just have to wait and see.

Sigourney Weaver Will Be Playing a New Character in Avatar Sequels

It’s been a long time since the release of James Cameron’s Avatar, but there are still two sequels on the way. The follow ups to the 2009 Oscar nominated film are scheduled to film back to back and release in 2017, 18, and 19 if they do well and go according to plan. It feels like Avatar has become a real afterthought at this point so it will be interesting to see how much people want to see them.

The first film needed “appropriate technology” according to Cameron and received mixed feelings from a bunch of people. Sigourney Weaver announced that she will be returning but playing a completely new character that has yet to be announced. It seems like Cameron is finding more ways to complicate the Avatar universe even more but we won’t really know until these films are released.

American Horror Story: Hotel Will Star Lady Gaga

American Horror Story has been a massive hit since it premiered back in 2011. The horror drama that takes on a new story each season will be looking ahead to its fifth season next which will be titled American Horror Story:Hotel. On top of this it has been announced that Lady Gaga will be a star in the next season and she has signed on as a series regular.

The new season is expected to air in the upcoming fall season. It’s interesting to see Lady Gaga pop up in a television show but the celebrity has a bunch of singing talent and is quite the character on stage that could be perfect for this type of a show. Hopefully this casting decision works out well and she can act, but only time will tell when the season starts in the fall.

Boyhood Getting a Sequel?

After a disappointing showing at the Academy Awards for Boyhood, there is some news coming out that director Richard Linklater is contemplating the possibility of making a sequel. Linklater is already working on his project titled That’s What I’m Talking About, which is a “spiritual sequel” to both Boyhood and Dazed and Confused; but the director has an idea about creating another film that would return us to the life of Mason to experience the character through his 20’s which are the years that really shape a person into who they become for life.

Linklater is always thinking up amazing ideas like Boyhood and knows how to depict time very well. The director says that the sequel would probably be more accelerated, and not shot over the course of ten years or so like the first one.

Part of me likes the idea of seeing what comes next for Mason; I really loved watching the character grow into an adult and definitely wouldn’t mind seeing how he experiences college and the real world afterwards; however, another part of me wants Boyhood to be left alone because it’s a wonderful tale as is and ends in a way that allows each viewer to decide on their own what happens to Mason. Either way, this is interesting news to hear from Linklater, so we’ll see if the idea ever turns into more than that.
